Alcyon Chamber Music Program

The Alcyon Chamber Music Program is run by
Shannon Snapp, Artistic Director of the Alcyon
Chamber Ensemble, in residence at Summer
Arts at The Cambridge School of Weston
. Our
goal of engaging young artists in chamber music
is achieved through in-depth musical study, and
through the study of related topics. The Alycon
Chamber Music Program
is devoted to ensemble
playing, large and small. Yoga, singing, theory
and improvisation center the mind, empower
the spirit, enhance the relationship to our
instrument, advance musical literacy, and help us
find our own voice.

Alcyon Chamber Music Program at Summer Arts

The Alcyon Chamber Music Program is fully
integrated into the new multi-arts summer program
at The Cambridge School of Weston. Alcyon students
focus primarily on chamber music instruction,
but also participate in Summer Arts community
gatherings, daily Noontime Shows, daily free choice
periods, take a 6th period class of their choosing from
the Summer Arts curriculum, and perform at the final
Arts Festival.

Participation in the program is based on approval
from Program Director Shannon Snapp. Call her
directly at 781.721.7725.
