Shannon Snapp

Shannon Snapp, Alcyon Chamber Ensemble Founder, Artistic Director and cellist, is well known in Boston as a performer and longtime associate of Emmanuel Music. She graduated from New England Conservatory with a MM and has performed, recorded and toured with Emmanuel Music, Boston Cecilia Society, Musicians of the Old Post Road, Boston Baroque, Handel & Haydn Society, New England Ragtime Ensemble, and Mitch Miller.

Ms. Snapp taught at BSO’s Tanglewood Music Center (Bach Institute), University of New Hampshire at Durham, and Governor Dummer Academy. Currently, Ms. Snapp teaches at the Cambridge School of Weston, MA, Creative Arts in Reading, MA and in her Winchester, MA studio. During the summers, Ms. Snapp has taught at Newton Montessori Cello Program, and Wellesley College Composer’s Conference and Chamber Music Festival. During the Spring of 2010, Shannon launched Alcyon’s Chamber Music Institute, in residence in Westford, MA. In July 2010, Shannon launched Alcyon’s Summer Music Workshop, in residence at Creative Arts in Reading, MA. Both of these programs will be ongoing. An additional residency was established in 2011 as part of the Cambridge School of Weston’s Summer Arts Program – The Alcyon Chamber Music Intensive.
